Patagonia is a region situated in the south of Argentina protected by numerous National Parks where fly fishing in either rivers or lakes, is enjoyed with a spectacular view of the Andes always in sight.
One can experience wild trout fishing (rainbow, brown, brook and lond locked salmon) in meandering steppe rivers or in lakes surrounded by dense forests at the foot of colourful snow capped mountains and volcanoes.
 
    LIMAY MEDIO RIVER

This section is about 30 miles long and is called the river of monsters because one can obtain residing rainbow trouts 30 inches long or residing brown weighing 5 Lb. It receives numerous tributaries from the andean range in the province of Neuquen. Its wates are calm, has pronounced runs and its bends are broad. Normally one comes accross deep pools, high cliffs and large beaches. We must also take into account one of its outstanding lures: it is miles from any touristic center. It is an ideal river on which you can drift for several days and camp, unmolested, in pristine surroundings.

 
           
This river which originates in the Alumine lake and flows over 65 miles, is turbulent, stony and has beautiful pools. In its lower course, one can float along side high cliffs, over deep pools or long flats. Most of the trouts are rainbow but brown can also be found in a lesser degree.
It is 24 miles long. The first stretch has runs and spectacular pools. It is fringed by very dense vegetation (Maitenes & weeping willows). One can observe guanacos grazing, as well as ñandues (ostrich), deer and wild boar. Caleufu trout are either rainbow or brown. Occasionally salmon are te be found.
It is 20 miles long. It originates from the confluence of the Alumine River. Its bed is comprised of small boulders and its calm waters run through a broad valley. It starts at the mouth of Lake Huechufalquen and flows over 33 miles Beautiful brown and rainbow trout are to be found here. It is not an easy river as it often totally disappears under a laberinth of weeping willow trees. It is a superlative fly fishing stream.

A small mountain lake, 800mts above sea level, inmerse in the valdivian forest with a hughe variety of species relating to this damp region. Though not of easy access, fishing here becomes an unforgettable experience due to the grandeur of the landscape and the opportunity of fishing from the raft magnificent rainbow trout, using floating lines and dry flies.
This river is aproximately 60km long. This section starts out from the mouth of the grand Nahuel Huapi lake and ends where it meets the Traful river. Flowing through scenic landscapes such as the Enchanted Valley, its and important river which offers large rainbow and brown trout.
     
   
     
Its pure and crystalline waters proceed from lake Tromen which is replenished with the melting snow from the Lanin Volcanoe (3747mts). While fishing, one can enjoy the view of this imposing volcanoe wich separates us from Chile. One also comes accross a unique forest of pines called Araucarias (Puzzle monkey trees), only to be found here. The fishing ground is in the Mapuche Indian Reservation. There are plenty of brown and rainbow trout which can weigh up to 5 Lb.

This is a typical Patagonian steppe river which forms deep ravines. One comes accross impressive rock formations caused by the rain and the wind. Generally one finds brown and rainbow trout weighing up to 1 lb.

Nahuel Huapi is the largest lake to be found in this National Park. It posseses important inlets and numerous mountain streams which descend on its coast. One of these, the Correntoso River, is internationally famous. One can catch good size rainbow brown and brook trouts.

The Espejo is an enclosed lake which forms part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Nestling in the midst of the Andean uplands it lies protected from the patagonian winds. The dense forest which surround it is made up of majestic trees called lengas and coihues as well as impenetrable massive canes and bindweed. The trout which is to be found here is the rainbow, brook and brown weighing over 6 Lb.
